Altar Servers

The altar servers are a volunteer group of boys in the fifth through twelfth grades who serve Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation and often during the week. An altar boy can be expected to serve one to two times a month. Once scheduled, each boy is fully responsible to see that he or a qualified substitute is present at this time.

There are also opportunities to serve the parish by assisting at weddings, funerals and special functions. Extra training and availability is required for these rituals. Funerals are limited to the boys who attend St. John's School or who are home-schooled, since they ordinarily take place during school time.
